Thursday Open House

Hokuloa Church welcomes visitors to tour the chapel and grounds every Thursday from 10-2. Talk with the volunteers. Meditate in the chapel. Have a picnic lunch on the grounds. The volunteers are on hand to clean, prune, print the order of service, and most importantly gather for lunch and conversation. Please join us for the fun and fellowship on Thursdays at the church.

Hokuloa UCC is a "hybrid" church with some participants who attend in-person most of the time and others who attend on-line most of the time.
Each Sunday there are two post-worship fellowship gatherings. Some of the in-person group gather under the monkeypod tree for treats and conversation. Likewise, some of the on-line folks share news and conversation.

Talk Story
The monthly small group Talk Story is a way for the in-person and on-line folks to get to know each other and build relationships.  You don't need to be on Hawai'i Island to be part of the Hokuloa 'Ohana!

This is an opportunity to meet on line (via Zoom) and share news, conversations, and stories with 'ohana from across Hawai'i Island and the Mainland.

The Talk Story Gathering is a chance to interact with other members and friends of Hokuloa - purely social.

Community Food Drive Update
Hokuloa's Holiday Food Drive is helping The Food Basket meet the increased need for food assistance on the Big Island due to higher food costs and recent disruptions to government food programs. A first delivery of donated food and over $3500 was taken to The Food Basket this week. The food drive has already exceeded last year's results. Donations of non-perishable food and cash will be accepted through December 28th.

All food drive donations will be distributed through the Hawaii Food Basket, the Hawaii Island food bank. Food shelves nationwide are being depleted as SNAP benefit disruptions due to the federal government shutdown are increasing demand from both new and existing clients
